D is for… Dance

D is for…. Dance

Dance is engrained in my soul. From a very young age, my mom, as many moms do, put me in dance classes. I spent 12 years in dance classes, performing solos, and loving every second of it.

Dance has changed how I think completely. I see patterns and movement in everything, with the most aesthetically pleasing to me is the things with the most elegant and smooth movement. My thoughts are choreographed to music. I’m my most productive with music, and I attribute that to dance.

Being a dancer teaches you much more than how to point your toes and turn in circles. It’s about passion and perseverance. It’s about doing things you can’t imagine doing. It’s about pain and relief.

Clearly, this is my love letter to dance.

  1. I have to agree with you that dance teaches you much more than just how to move. In fact, that’s what my blog is about! I was a professional ballet dancer for 10 years who just stepped away from that world to see what else is out there. But I think my lens has been permanently altered by my total immersion in the world of dance. For better and for worse, but mostly for the better 🙂 Thanks for sharing.
